Job Overview
We are looking for a Cloud Engineer on an effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Quantico, VA. The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency’s highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels.
The Network Cloud Engineer will be called upon to provide technical leadership in the analysis, design, and development of cloud-based applications. They will assist in engineering solutions to connect datacenter to the cloud, and apply their expertise in cloud software development to solve complex business problems.
This candidate must be adept at migrating systems to a cloud architecture from disparate platforms and utilizing a wide range of tools to implement/re-implement systems in a cloud architecture.
They will partner with the Program or Project Manager to interpret business requirements, provide guidance to technical teams, effectively design and execute on cloud strategy according to requirements, and deliver high quality results. The Network Cloud Engineer must have the ability to communicate technical and non-technical information clearly, answer technical questions from customers, and be able provide efficient technical solutions to problems.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud transport at the direction of lead architects.
- Participate in all aspects of the engineering life cycle for cloud solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
- Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as needed
- Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity
Requirements
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with ability to obtain an SCI
- Masters or Bachelor's degree in relevant field or 8+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- 5+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions
- Experience in designing and developing enterprise cloud solutions
- Experience in implementing application migrations to cloud providers
- Experience with cloud automation (i.e. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Lambda)
- Understanding basics of project management
- Experience in identifying business needs and working in an Agile team
- Experience with AWS services
- Experience with Python and/or JavaScript
Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications
- AWS Associate or Professional level Certifications
- Experience with Docker and AWS ECS
- Programming Languages: Java, HTML, JavaScript, C#, .NET Suite, AWS Suite with Lambda
- Frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, REST, JSF, Hadoop, HIVE, AngularJS, ReactJS, AWS Services (S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Code Commit/Build/Deploy/Pipeline, ECR, ECS)
