Job purpose
Basic function is to operate daily business, management and programmatic functions of the pool facility. Directs all coordination of pool personnel and activities, noting any needed maintenance or safety issue of pool and related facilities.
Duties and responsibilities
- Oversight of lifeguarding staff including scheduling and the general safety of the pool areas.
- Protect the assets of the Club by maintaining equipment inventory, developing and implementing procedures for equipment check-out from the lifeguard’s station or related areas.
- Protect and ensure safe conditions for members and guests. Prevent accidents and eliminate hazardous conditions in the water and/or surrounding areas are priority via quick emergency response.
- Administer any first aid needed by a victim of any accident.
- Adhere to established emergency procedures, complete reports in a concise and timely manner.
- Manage employee performance for all pool-related positions to ensure standards of performance are met.
- Recruit, hire, and train all department personnel, verifying proper lifesaving certifications and other qualifications.
- Maintain all pool and related areas in a clean and organized fashion, including locker rooms, storage areas, pump house, and Lifeguard station. Perform maintenance procedures as required for safe and sanitary conditions (pH levels, chemical balances, etc.) and complete reports as required.
- Ensure compliance with all Health Department regulations regarding operation of a swimming pool.
- Provide aquatic-related programming and activities, i.e. swimming lessons, water aerobics, children’s activities, etc., for all ages.
- Enforce pool and related area rules and regulations, as approved by Hampton Golf.
- Present oneself in a professional manner at all times.
- Work as a team player with all managers to contribute to the overall success of the facility and Hampton Golf.
Qualifications
- Valid Lifeguarding Certification.
- Valid CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification.
- Valid First Aid Certification.
- CPO Certification
- Two years of pool management experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
