Senior Enterprise Cloud Architect with GCP/Azure & Lakehouse for this Hybrid role
Location: Nashville, TN, US (Hybrid 2 days/week onsite)
Duration:6+ months and possible Contract to Hire
Note: This candidate must have excellent communication skills, Data Lakehouse experience and GCP required but GCP/Azure combo is preferred.
Open to candidates that are willing to relocate to Nashville Metro.
Responsibilities
- The Enterprise Cloud Architect will provide enterprise Cloud Services direction for one of the largest healthcare companies in the US with International reach.
- The position will work closely with various areas of the organization to define, architect and enable the delivery of cloud capabilities and solutions, focusing on infrastructure, platform and application “as a service” models.
- The role will leverage internal knowledge, vendor partners, industry experts and consulting organizations to develop an overall blueprint that will bring together technology and organizational models to enable operational excellence and forward-thinking capabilities, including but not restricted to Software Defined Anything (SDx), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and other core Cloud delivery models.
- The role will lead the architecture for a private cloud service with future architectures such as hybrid cloud.
- The position must be able to effectively communicate and consult with HCA business leaders to understand business needs and challenges. Then, develop IT solutions that solve those challenges and align with IT infrastructure capabilities, standards, and policies while increasing the speed and agility of the business. If IT infrastructure capabilities, standards and policies need to be revised to accomplish the business objective, the position will be responsible for documenting changes needed and securing approval for those changes.
- The individual will work closely with domain architects and infrastructure groups to define our understanding of cloud, identify necessary components, infrastructure and operating model as well as enabling forward thinking capabilities to ensure continued growth and success in emerging cloud technologies and methodologies.
- The position will interact daily with the multiple groups and individuals including; Security Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Application Architecture, Business Partners, Vendors and IT Leadership, as well as some end users on developing solutions that meet business requirements.
- This role will help shape Healthcare client’s approach to cloud implementation providing technical leadership and architectural direction, and will work closely with various organizations to align delivery of cloud services.
- The individual will be responsible for developing technical and business alignment roadmaps, business case development and Request for Information/Proposal documentation. The position requires excellent written and oral communications skills to develop presentations, technical white papers, and proposals. Project management and problem management skills are required to ensure that assigned IT initiatives remain on schedule and provide the business benefits needed.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position including interactions with other departments and outside vendors, if applicable, in PRIORITY order.) Under the direction of the VP & Chief Technologist, the Enterprise Cloud Architect will be responsible for:

- Extract and translate business strategy into architectural requirements.
- Understand long-term business objectives and suggest technical strategies to meet those objectives.
- Work closely with leadership, business and product owners to establish and validate multi cloud design and architecture
- Work collaboratively with and across multiple development teams to align cloud architecture.
- Communicate design solutions directly with customers and stakeholders to ensure projects follow Enterprise Architecture standards.
- Assess industry standards for information models and translate them into improvements in software development framework.
- Define and develop a data migration or bridging strategy for existing systems that need to migrate to a next generation application software platform.
- Stays current on the ever-changing technology industry to ensure developed solutions are following both internal and industry “best practices”.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services
- Leading the selection of technologies for further research and opportunities
- Identification of emerging technology and developing plans for adoption of technology
- Serving as a lead architect on data initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong personal and organizational leadership skills.
Role & Responsibilities
- Serve as lead architect where appropriate/assigned on initiatives at the direction of leadership
- Develop and maintain core components of the Architecture Plan to ensure these are up-to-date
- Direct, identify and proof emerging technologies
- Ensure project technology decisions are aligned to Enterprise Architecture standards and policies (or otherwise see that they are expanded)
- Identify architecture challenges related to the project activities and work with Project Manager, Application Architect and Technical Architect to resolve
- Responsible for building strong relationships with IT&S leaders, Business leaders, project managers, and other technical domain experts
- Serves as a key agent for supporting the development of an overall competency in key technologies, disciplines and architectures
- Provide mentoring and guidance on technical and architectural direction, methodology, design, and reuse
- Will work with our security, networking, and other departments to ensure that our integration solutions meet all established policies
