Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Cloud Engineer. The Cloud Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and managing our cloud infrastructure to ensure the availability, performance, and security of our applications and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement cloud solutions that align with our business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with architects to design scalable and cost-effective cloud architecture solutions, considering factors such as high availability, disaster recovery, and security
- Deploy and configure cloud services and resources on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, ensuring best practices and optimization
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code scripts (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to automate provisioning and manage cloud resources
- Implement and monitor security measures, access controls, and compliance policies to safeguard cloud infrastructure and data
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning processes to ensure the reliability and efficiency of cloud environments
- Investigate and resolve cloud-related issues, providing technical support and root cause analysis
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and IT professionals, to integrate cloud solutions into the development and operational processes
Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Poly
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with network protocols, security, and compliance in cloud environments
- Scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are a plus
