Philadelphia based Growing Drug Discovery technology company leveraging AI and advanced technologies to transform the way promising drugs are developed and tested, seeks a Cloud Engineer/Architect to join it's growing team.
This is a ground floor opportunity that will paricipate in the design and implementation of the company's scalable AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Management: Design, implement, and manage scalable AWS cloud infrastructure with a focus on cost-efficiency and optimal performance.
- Cloud Security: Maintain and optimize cloud security, backup, and disaster recovery processes to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
- Deployment Automation: Implement deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines, managing containerization for seamless application delivery.
- Security Best Practices: Establish and enforce best practices for cloud security to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure management.
- Cloud Platforms: Proficient in managing AWS, GCP, or Azure, with expertise in selecting instance types, implementing horizontal scaling strategies, and executing zero-downtime deployments.
- Scaling and Load Balancing: Experienced in employing horizontal scaling and load balancing strategies to effectively manage fluctuating workloads.
- Containerization: Skilled in using Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expertise in provisioning and configuring infrastructure with IaC tools, including setting up networks, instances, and load balancers.
- Deployment Strategies: Experienced in implementing Blue/Green deployments for zero downtime and rapid rollbacks.
- Automated Testing: Well-versed in automated regression testing tools to ensure the reliability of web applications.
- Security Expertise: Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with Agile Software and Project Management Tools (Scrum, JIRA)
- Experience in startup environments, ability to navigate challenges effectively in fast-paced settings.
- Familiarity with Django, Python, Node.js and React would be great.
- Databases/SQL/NoSQL, use of structured and unstructured data for machine learning operations .
- Experience with machine learning infrastructure (GPUs, TPUs, Trainium) and networking technologies like NCC.
