DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Sr. Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the reliability testing of Terminal Sterilization and High Level Disinfection equipment designed by ASP. This position will be responsible for executing protocols, compiling data and information necessary for final test reports. They will be responsible for performing root cause analysis on issues observed during protocols or on issues observed during product testing. This position will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment including service, maintenance, and calibration. This position will be responsible for performing lab audits, managing lab organization, cleanliness, and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilites:
Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations and ASP policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:
- Requires broad technical knowledge of capital equipment.
- Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for the reliability of ASP capital equipment and ASP’s reliability processes.
- Design and develop automated and semi-automated design characterization tests and reliability tests, including test planning, test development and release, test execution and reports.
- Provides training to other engineers or technicians.
- Applies design for reliability techniques, including design margin analysis, tolerance stack-up analysis, components derating, reliability calculations.
- Applies statistical analysis techniques to enable better decision making
- Performs Failure Analyses and Investigation reports and related risk management tools to enable tradeoff discussions.
- Works out proposals and cost estimates of project related costs.
- Maintains laboratory equipment including service, maintenance, and calibration.
- Performs lab audits, and manages lab organization, cleanliness, and supplies.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level, and advocates for decision making and process designs that coincide with Design for Reliability Principles.
- Provides technical support for outside suppliers, vendors, and/or consultants as required, inclusive of supplier visits and identification / implementation of process improvements.
- May coordinate testing with outside testing laboratories (NRTL testing, environmental testing, HALT testing, etc.)
- Uses general and complex engineering test equipment.
- Uses general hand and laboratory tools.
- Performs experiments or troubleshoots designs in laboratories.
- Understands electrical safety and ESD.
- Completes assigned role-based training.
- Can perform basic mechanical and electrical rework.
- Applies Fortive Business Systems tools, as required.
- Review customer complaints, post market surveillance, and market research for related products and use findings to ensure better reliability performance for new products and design changes.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the manager of the role.
