Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Assess losses throughout the plant and create a strategic plan to improve asset capability and reliability.
- Develops engineering solutions to address repetitive failures that negatively impact plant performance and/or end customer satisfaction.
- Utilize root cause analysis, FMEA, criticality analysis and other lean tools to address problems on equipment critical to plant success.
- Collaborate across departments to create breakdown priority lists to ensure that equipment issues are resolved in alignment with plant requirements.
- Review and edit of existing PM programs to ensure that all necessary parts are captured. and service matches both OEM recommendations and past equipment performance.
- Assist in planning and execution of capital projects; typically, $50,000 or less.
- Investigates and implements solutions to drive culture of continuous improvement, more specifically focused around TPM methodology.
- Create and manage department metrics related to equipment reliability (ie mean time between failures, meantime between repairs etc.)
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Computer skills are a must, with knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Work, MS Excel, and MS Powerpoint.
- Must have the ability to work effectively with computerized maintenance manager systems (CMMS) and instruct others on its operation.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to present complex topics in a concise manner, strong interpersonal skills, essential in dealing with people at all levels and in a variety of functions including technical staff, business team leaders, union personnel and be able to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment including interactions with technical staff, administrative staff and business team leaders. Ability to build partnerships across and between functional groups and lead a project team when necessary.
- Must be able to work extended hours, weekends as needed, especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met.
- Demonstrate skills in time management and managing multiple priorities. Critical thinking skills and ability to constructively resolve conflict.
- Maintenance planning and scheduling experiences required.
- Project management experience preferred.
Education and Training
- Engineering degree, or related degree
- Six Sigma and Lean Training.
