Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- At least 8+ years’ experience performing full stack database administration functions and supporting relational databases in a 24x7 production environment.
- Proven expertise managing complex data systems and working with development teams to assist in the successful delivery of application environments.
- Experience with supporting highly transactional OLTP databases. Experience with High Availability concepts.
- Experience with database scalability concepts (partitioning/sharding, replication, compression)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including robust troubleshooting skills with a focus on preventative actions.
- Experience with some of the following technologies and concepts is not required but would be a plus: Microsoft Operating systems, PostgreSQL (AWS Aurora), MongoDB (Atlas), Linux Operating systems, Active Directory, SSIS, OLTP data environments, Data Archiving, Snowflake, Wait Statistics, Solarwinds DPA/DPM, Policy Based Management, PowerShell, MySQL, DB2, Agile Methodologies, Amazon cloud database technologies, VMWare, Cloud Automation.
