The Senior Reliability Engineer’s primary duties are to utilize advanced level engineering skills to contribute to the development and qualification of power tool products. This individual will also help mentor junior engineers on technical skill development. The Sr Reliability Engineer will define the test methods and product requirements needed to develop durable, disruptive, and market-leading products.
A successful candidate will bring curiosity, accountability, and strong experience in test development, validation, and data acquisition to the New Product Development team. The Candidate enjoys a fast-paced work environment with excellent visibility and opportunities to grow.
Duties and Responsibilities
Product Development
Be a subject matter expert in the New Product Development team with respect to test methods, product requirements, user needs, and reliability
Develop Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements from collaboration with Product Management and participation in User Needs Research
Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing to define product specifications with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needs
Design experimental techniques to improve development and testing efforts
Lead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) for new product development projects during the product development cycle
Interact with global suppliers that participate in product development
Testing and Analysis
Develop new test procedures and create test plans to evaluate product performance against user and product requirements
Perform Data Analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test data
Summarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusions
Ensure timely failure reporting and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA)
Effectively document test plans, procedures, and best practices for execution in test laboratories
Job Requirements
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as Design Of Experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, Failure Mode Engineering Analysis, hypothesis testing, etc.
Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, data analytics, and related software (e.g. Python, nCode Glyphworks, Dewesoft, LabVIEW)
Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++)
Experience in troubleshooting, fault detection, failure analysis, and automating tests/measurements and analysis
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilities
Ability to travel 5% domestically and 10% internationally
