We are looking for a talented Mgr II - Engineering Software engineer to help us create the world’s most advanced solutions in the area such as Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Aircraft Protection, Radar Warning and Electronic Attack for our defense related customers. Our products provide critical mission capabilities to address the ever-evolving challenges and threats to our nation’s security and the war fighter.
As a Section Lead for a group of 10 - 15 software engineering professionals you will have a dual role of providing leadership to your direct reports as well as directly contributing to the success of a related project in a technical role, technical leadership role or software project management role. You will be responsible for general supervision and administration of direct reports with key job duties that include mentoring, career development, performance management, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, creating a psychologically and physically safe team environment, and holding regular employee one-on-ones.
We are looking to grow our team and you will be integral in interviewing and hiring new software team members. You will be an engaged member of the Software Engineering leadership team, shaping the software culture and process while ensuring the staffing and technical needs of the business are met. You will work with our programs using your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations. Technical roles may include Model Based Engineering, DevSecOps, architecture and design, software implementation, software / system testing, software project management, bid and proposal development, next generation solution planning and other areas of engagement that align with your skills and career aspirations.As a committed leader within Software Engineering, you will help guide engineers in their career advancement as well as push software initiatives and best practices across the organization.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

- Secret Security Clearance (active within the past two years).
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science and 10 years of work experience
- Engineering background and leadership skills with experience in multiple aspects of the product development lifecycle
- Ability to lead a medium size group with diverse cultures and individual differences
- Proven performance management, mentoring, coaching, and communication skills
- Functional Management Leadership experience (i.e. general supervision, performance management, staffing)
- Ability to formulate a strategic vision and define and implement action plans to achieve goals in a changing environment
- Experience across engineering lifecycle (i.e. requirements analysis, architecture design/development, integration, verification, sell-off, security accreditation, and maintenance)
- Advanced technical degree or certification relevant to engineering, technical, or business focus
- Experience interfacing with internal and external customers
- Experience developing/reviewing technical and cost artifacts for new business activities
- Experience leading teams with Agile Software development approaches such as Scrum
- Experience with Linux, Windows, Real-time operating systems.
- Experience managing projects utilizing Earned Value Measurement System (EVMS) in a DoD environment
- Expert level understanding of software development tools within a DevOps or DevSecOps pipeline
