Job Title: Cloud Network Engineerr
Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: 4+ Months contract
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Provide day to day functional support of networking services for Cloud Operations.
• Deploy and maintain new and existing hardware in support of current customers and future growth. This includes networking gear OS updates and interacting with high level support and vendors.
• Manage small to medium-sized projects and/or portions of large projects and assist in resolving issues and planning for new network services and connectivity.
• Respond to incidents/requests regarding network performance and configuration changes including an off hours, level 2, on-call rotation.
• Maintain network documentation, run-books, diagrams, and network assets in the configuration management database.
• Implement (and act as the key technical liaison for) the site to site connectivity (over VPN or dedicated circuit) between Cloud Customers and access to Teradata Cloud Services.
• Develop guidelines and procedures for LAN/WAN management including process and efficiency improvements.
• Monitor and tune network infrastructure to identify and eliminate issues and potential bottlenecks.
• Prepare periodic reports related to bandwidth capacity and utilization.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, Spanning Tree, multicast, VRF, QoS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP as well as Metro Ethernet and MPLS connectivity/architecture, and application layer firewall implementation and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of sniffer analysis, WAN optimization appliances, and network monitoring tools/suites such as Solarwinds Orion and Wireshark.
• Practical experience troubleshooting issues related to LAN, WAN, VPN, and Load-balancer infrastructure in a Cloud environment.
• Broad technical knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and platforms to include Nexus 7/5/2k, ASR 1k and 9k, vPC, OTV, and VDC configuration.
• Strong understanding of IT production environments, operational strategies and mission critical systems to include IT internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with Disaster Recovery.
• 8+ years of extensive hands on networking and troubleshooting experience in large, distributed corporate environments.
• 5+ years with F5 Big-IP products (LTM, GTM, ASM) and Palo Alto gear.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
• Experience with Linux administration.
• Experience with Windows Active Directory.
• Knowledge of Teradata platform.
Minimum Educational Level/Certifications/Citizenship
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science or equivalent degree and/or work experience.
• Current CCNP and/or CCDP
• US Permanent Residence

• Relevant Work Experience: 8-10 years
• Career Level: Experienced (Non Manager)
Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions:
• Manipulation of computer keyboard is essential.
• Installation and removal of networking equipment within data center and data closets.
Travel Requirement: Up to 7.5 %
