The Senior Network Administrator's primary purpose to ensure the optimal performance and security of the company’s network infrastructure. This involves installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco technologies, conducting complex network problem analysis, and conveying complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. The role also includes monitoring and improving network performance, and staying updated on security and networking best practices.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Install, configure, and maintain Cisco technologies to include routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Conduct complex network problem analysis and resolve complex network problems.
- Work with data carriers to identify and resolve issues.
- Convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, ranging from technical experts to non-specialists.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on network performance and make recommendations to improve performance.
- Administration of Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine.)
- Support and troubleshoot 3rd party VoIP technologies, such as RingCentral.
- Support and troubleshoot video conferencing equipment, such as Microsoft Teams Rooms.
- Support and troubleshoot remote access.
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
- Vulnerability analysis and remediation on networking infrastructure.
- Provide documentation and evidence for various security audits.
- Create and maintain network documentation.
- Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
- This position requires travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Additional duties as requested or required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in network administration, with a strong focus on Cisco technologies including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, and training will be considered.
- In-depth understanding of various network services (MPLS, NAT, DHCP, DNS, RSA)
- Knowledge of the following protocols: EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, and OSPF.
- Experience with IDS/IPS/URL filtering technologies, such as Cisco Firepower.
- Must be organized, meet deadlines, work high priority issues, and be detail oriented.
- Strong communication skills; both verbally and in writing
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods at the work station, and walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to access computer equipment. The employee must also must have the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form; enter data into a computer; and operate standard office equipment including computer, telephone, printer, copier, and facsimile machine. The employee must regularly lift and/or move computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
