Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for deployment of new products while enhancing network stability. In addition, participating in strong groups to produce new products and to expand the network and its capabilities.
- Work with other team members on strategic planning of network enhancements and product rollouts
- Participate in a test lab that can test products and network changes prior to rollout
- Participate in professional services organization that can deliver solutions beyond the Demarc and create an additional source of revenue for Grid4
- Participate in maintaining the datacenter and insuring maximum uptime and high security
- Maintain relationships with network hardware and software vendors, ensuring that vendors are aligned to best support the goals of the organization
- Research and develop new products that can differentiate Grid4 from its competitors
- Ensure that the network is properly engineered to support continued growth and work with network planning and operations to ensure that the network always has enough capacity to handle customer load
- Manage network such as tracking uptime and utilization of network elements, as well as tracking of network alarms
- Manage proactive notification of important network events
- Continually monitor trends in network performance and manage process improvement to maximize efficiency
- Be able to perform individually at or above expectations
Qualifications, skills, and knowledge:
- 5+ years of prior related experience
- Network security experience
- LAN and WAN experience
- In-depth understanding of IP routing, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, QoS, SIP and telecommunications circuit installation and operation
- Metaswitch experience is a plus
- Experience with hosted and cloud-based voice applications and services preferred
- Experience with network monitoring, management and troubleshooting with various tools such as Packet Sniffer utilities, Wireshark and Metaswitch SAS required
- Experience in designing, installing, and maintaining secure IP networks preferred
- Understanding of feature delivery in hosted VoIP environment such as hosted services, SIP trunking, PRI trunking via IAD, VoIP CPE, etc.
- Understanding of VoIP protocols, SIP signaling with emphasis on RTP and SDP, network QOS, IP routing, Ethernet switching, and packet tagging mechanisms
- CCNP or better level of Cisco Certification or equivalent work experience
- Experience building and supporting SMB Networks (Firewall deployments, switch config, proper design principles)
- At least a baseline understanding of IT Security, and how to design systems and networks with security in mind
- Baseline understanding of Azure IaaS Veeam Backup and PaaS services
- Exposure to virtualization platforms (VMWare / Hyper-V). More hands-on knowledge the better
- Experience working with customers to identify needs and translate those to scalable and supportable technology solutions
- Good documentation habits and desire to share knowledge
- Edge/WAN/LAN troubleshooting skills
- Building an Azure Virtual Desktop environment
- Experience deploying and managing security solutions - specifically EDR/AV/Umbrella
- SAN Experience preferred
- Enterprise Datacenter Architecture design experience
- Automation/Scripting
- Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions
- Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
- Ability to provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
- Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization
- A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Dependable and flexible when necessary

Salary range: $66,486.00-$103,100.00
