Immediate opening for an IT Systems Technician in Troy/Sterling Heights

Centaris has over 40 years’ experience helping small to mid-sized businesses with their computer technology needs. We provide a full suite of computer technology managed IT services, including Microsoft Office 365 and Teams, as well as computer systems sales and service, structured cabling, varied voice/phone solutions, telephony, cloud VoIP solutions and internet/voice carrier services.
We are currently looking for someone to provide onsite help desk / deskside support primarily dedicated to one of our manufacturing clients. You will be working as part of a team responsible for supporting approximately 50domestic and international end users.Support includes installation, training, proactive maintenance, repair, problem solving and end user assistance for all internal hardware/software, applications and databases.
The Systems Technician position is a full-time, salaried position. Primary hours will be Monday – Thursday at our client location in Troy from 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Friday will be spent supporting a variety of internal clients at our Help Desk in Sterling Heights from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated proficiency with setting up,maintaining and troubleshooting computers, printers, software, telecom and mobile related peripherals
- Basic network troubleshooting: ISP/LAN/WiFi connectivity, routers, switches and firewalls (Sonicwall a plus)
- Hands on networking experience in a Cisco environment
- Windows Active Directory: administration and maintenance of end user accounts, permissions and access rights
- Experience with Help Desk ticketing and monitoring software
- Experience using Microsoft Windows client platforms: Window Server, SharePoint
- Email troubleshooting in Microsoft 365 environment
- Experience with SAP, SCCM, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune or engineering software ( i.e. AutoCAD, Creo) is a plus
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school (or related degree/equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred.
- 2+ years of IT work experience preferred.
- Professional IT certifications preferred.
