In this role you will work with a Team of Senior Engineers in a rapid paced environment focused on Problem Management for multiple web based Microsoft applications. You will be expected to attend and participate actively in bridge calls with on and offshore personnel (10+ people), strong communication skills are paramount. Extensive experience working with and supporting Microsoft IIS is absolutely needed. You will conduct root cause analysis of issues and troubleshoot Web applications. A strong competency in Networking concepts/protocols, load balancers and monitoring tools are required. Problem Management experience is required.
Responsibilities
Exceptional communication skills and confidence to talk in front of Tech and Business leadership and peers to explain the findings/uncovered issues
Create Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of the operational and technology problems involving Microsoft Technology based web-tier, SQL Server, and SOA-based distributed environment.
Drives issues through closure engaging all appropriate resources. Leads technical bridges and provides troubleshooting direction. Provides guidance and recommended solutions to complex technical issues
Acts as an advocate for Engineering Operations procedures, policies, and processes. Leads the integration of projects/products into operations including instrumentation, automation, standardization, and methods/procedures
There will be some off hour on call work and support required when needed but not in an excessive manner, any additional time put in will be compensated with hours off the following day or week and will be communicated directly by management. Required Skills:
5+ years support/administration experience in some of following technologies (overall need extensive MS application support experience): Windows Server Platform, IIS, Active Server Pages (ASP, ASP.NET), HTML, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, Service-Oriented Architecture
5+ years exp in technology operations - change, configuration management, application deployment, trouble shooting, and monitoring in production and pre-production environments, and production incident management
Good understanding and demonstrable experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL protocols, DNS, DHCP, UDP, XML and SOAP, Active Directory administration (overall need strong working knowledge of Networking protocols)
Experience working with common network elements such as routers, firewalls, load balancers, and network storage
Operational experience with high volume transactional web platform, Hands-on exp with monitoring and tools such as BAC, Tealeaf, Keynote, CatchPoint, Gomez, Wiley, Omniture (We are not looking for someone with all of these tools, we expect the right candidate to have experience with 1 or more, or a similar monitoring tool)
Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science, Engineering, or related fields (required)
