Job Summary:
The IT Network Administrator is a primary stakeholder in the design, upkeep, maintenance, and up-time of Human Kinetics network infrastructure. They are intrinsically motivated to maintain and implement systems that ensure system integrity. Additionally, this person quickly and effectively responds to tickets, alerts, logs, and alarm triggers as events occur. As part of the IT Systems Team, the IT Network Administrator maintains the network environment by identifying network requirements, installing upgrades, and monitoring network performance.
The IT Network Administrator provides a stable technical environment for internal and external customers by ensuring system reliability.
Essential Functions
- Implementation and deployment of routers, switches, wlans, VPN, load balancers and firewalls. Monitors systems daily, including virtualized server environment and storage area network, to fix and maintain function.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft software and technologies, such as: desktop & server OS, Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SQL.
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies and concepts, such as: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN, VLANS, layer 2 switching, layer 3 routing, UTM.
- Responds quickly to hardware, software, network, and system failures. Provide troubleshooting, analysis, and recommendations for corrective action.
- Experience administering enterprise virtualization products, such as VMware vSphere.
- Manages security certificates (sites, iis, coldfusion and/or Java).
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all network-facing systems and access.
- Makes recommendations regarding HK’s technology infrastructure ensuring it is adequate to support business systems continuity in the event of serious incidents or disasters.
- Serve as a resource for Helpdesk Technician(s), System administrator(s), Security Administrator(s), other Tech team members and Human Kinetics employees
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Human Kinetics on network administration.
- Adheres to HK’s change management protocol. Systems Change management.
Secondary Functions
- Assist other Security and Systems team members with issues and tasks.
- Serve as secondary support to the Security and System Administration team and duties.
- Participate in the on-call rotation.
Job Qualifications
Education: 4-year degree in Information Technology, or equivalent training and experience required with CCNA or equivalent work experience preferred.
Required Experience:
4 Years’ experience in a Network Administration Role
Experienced in all areas of enterprise routing, switching, data center infrastructure, wireless technology, and security.
Certificate management experience from acquisition and deployment to tracking renewal, usage, and expiration—of all SSL certificates deployed within a network.
Experience with Cisco Unified phone systems or similar VOIP solutions.
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools.
Experience with Dell/EMS Networker or similar programs.
Experience with Vranger or similar Programs.
Knowledge of industry best practices for monitoring, tiered storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
Preferred Experience: Experience in network assessment, design, redesign, and architecture of new and existing networks.
