Responsibilities
Designs, configures, tests, implements and maintains telecommunications capabilities, including wide area and local area networks. Performs operations and support activities.
Assists applications programmers working in the telecommunications environment.
Evaluates network changes for operational impact.
Evaluates network performance and resolves network and processor problems.
Familiar with hardware and software diagnostic tools.
Primary escalation point technology issues that are unable to be resolved by Tier-1 and Tier-2 support staff.
Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of supported services.
Provide training to Tier-1 and Tier-2 Support Technicians.
Perform daily shift-driven tasks assigned by the Technology Lead.
Troubleshooting and configuration of customer issues.
Database administration and development.
Performing server repairs.
Problem solving involving network and infrastructure.
Maintaining Cloud centric updates.
Developing and deploying customer approved solutions to new problems.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications
5+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
All the qualifications of Tier 1 and 2.
Active Secret Clearance.
Knowledge in networking: standard internet protocols and ports, network monitoring and analysis tools, configuration of network devices (switches, routers, firewalls).
Knowledge of Linux: system and network configuration, software installation, troubleshooting, bash scripting, etc.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows: system and network configuration, registry, software installation, troubleshooting, scripting, Active Directory, etc.
Good understanding of: DNS, Web proxies, Email servers, mail protocols, Web categorization, Web protocols, Anti-Spam and Anti-Malware solutions.
High motivation for innovation and ability to explore and drive new ideas and technologies, think and learn independently.
3+ years of experience in tech support.
Experience with virtualization infrastructure, private and public: VMWare, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, or Rackspace - advantage.
Programming or scripting experience – advantage.
Associate's degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
