Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MBSE Architect to join our L3Harris Systems Engineering team. As a MBSE Architect, you will own the development, control, and verification of a large system-of-systems modeling effort. The model is distributed across multiple business units, utilizing the Cameo and TeamWork Cloud suite of tools. As the architect, you will be expected to both model yourself, and effectively collaborate or delegate tasks or sub-models and maintain configuration control of the model elements. Communication of model parameters, results, system constraints, simulation methods, and requirements management including verification approach will be expected to both high level internal and external stakeholders. Experience modeling of complex software interactions and algorithms on in aerospace, ISR, image processing, and EO/IR contexts is a plus.
Job Description:
- Lead the systems engineering activities throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Develop system architecture, requirements, and specifications based on customer needs and technical constraints.
- Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to define, analyze, and validate system models and simulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of subsystems and components.
- Conduct system-level tests and evaluations to verify performance, identify issues, and propose solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to systems engineering.
- Works to meet schedule constraints imposed by internal or external stakeholders as required, utilizing project management skills.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior analysts and engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.
- Creates professional, data-driven presentations for briefing technical decisions or recommendations both to internal stakeholders and external vendors/customers.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Experience as a Systems Engineer.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Strong background in developing systems model and modeling software architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture, Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or similar SysML development tool.
- Strong background in software systems and software development, including experience with programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python.
- Proficiency in hardware/software integration, with the ability to collaborate with hardware engineers and software developers to ensure seamless integration of subsystems and components.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices, with a focus on ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
- Familiarity with anti-tamper techniques and methodologies to protect systems against unauthorized access, reverse engineering, and tampering.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as DO-178, DO-254, MIL-STD-810, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in the Aerospace/Defense sector.
- Knowledge and experience in advanced Optical Systems, EO/IR Sensors, or ISR applications.
- Verification and Validation (V&V) experience or Integration and Test (I&T) experience.
- Environmental Testing / Qualification (ESS) experience.
- Experience working under an AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management System.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplined integrated product team (IPT).
