Description
Rowan College at Burlington County, a comprehensive college in New Jersey's largest county, is seeking qualified applicants to fill the Computer Science/Information Systems Instructor position in the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics for the Spring 2025 semester.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Qualified candidates will have a solid technical background and be proficient in delivering engaging lessons across a range of disciplines, with a focus on Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, and Computing Informatics. In addition, the successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in computer technology, including but not limited to database management, information security, cloud computing, business intelligence, and mobile computing, and keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies.
The ideal candidate will also have a proven track record of leading student team projects and the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork among students. In addition, they will be able to design and implement hands-on, practical learning experiences that enable students to develop real-world skills and expertise.
Additionally, the successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholders. Finally, they should be committed to continuous learning and professional development and demonstrate a passion for teaching and inspiring the next generation of computer scientists and technologists.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Required:
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Ph.D. Preferred.
Experience Required:- At least two years teaching experience in the discipline.
- And/or at least one year of industrial experience in computing fields.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge/Other Requirements:- Computing and informatics curriculum design and development.
- Experience in computer certifications and third-party program accreditations
- Willing to teach online.
- Assist in the recruitment of students.
- Support the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.
- Develop community/industry contacts and participate in appropriate community service on behalf of the college
- Participate in professional development or other activities that may include in-services, courses, professional organizations, or seminars to advance instruction and technical skills and knowledge within the field of study.
Additional Information
INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
