We are searching for an Expert Systems Engineer to lead the charge in integrating NGA's security framework using the seven key principles of Zero Trust. Job Description:
As an Expert Systems Engineer, you will be at the heart of NGA's cybersecurity transformation, focusing on implementing a robust Zero Trust framework based on these seven key principles:
Verification of User Identity: Ensuring that every user's identity is continuously verified.
Validation of Device Trustworthiness: Assessing and validating the trustworthiness of devices seeking access.
Protection of Data: Implementing strict measures to protect sensitive data at all times.
Secure Access to Applications: Ensuring secure access to applications and workloads.
Control of Network and Environment: Maintaining control over network access and the environment.
Real-Time Visibility and Analytics: Implementing real-time monitoring and analytics for threat detection.
Automation and Orchestration: Leveraging automation to streamline security processes.
Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of critical responsibilities, including:
Key Responsibilities:
- Directing and leading requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, and more, across NGA, ASG (Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence), and Federal Agencies.
- Advising on solution design changes, translating mission requirements into actionable solutions, and ensuring seamless systems integration.
- Leading Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), strategic technical planning, and risk management to safeguard NGA's cybersecurity posture.
- Overseeing the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level Systems Engineers, ensuring the highest standards of excellence.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent Expert level experience with 18+ years in Systems Engineering.
- A solid understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle is crucial for success in this role.
Desired Qualifications:
- A Doctorate in Systems Engineering or related technical fields would be a valuable asset.
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering, relevant certifications, and licensure as a professional engineer are highly desirable.
- Membership or leadership roles in professional organizations such as ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, or USGIF would be advantageous.
- Significant experience in the geospatial intelligence field is a plus.
- Proficiency in engineering solutions using Cloud Technology, Big Data, Automation, Augmentation, and Artificial Intelligence technologies is highly desired.
Security Clearance Requirement:
A Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) Security Clearance is mandatory for this position.
