Control System Engineer
Key Role:
Apply your knowledge of industrial equipment and processes to help develop secure network architecture designs, identify exploitable vulnerabilities that could impact operations, evaluate systems for cyber risks and remediation activities, and design and implement industrial cybersecurity monitoring solutions. Work both remotely and onsite at various commercial, industrial, or government facilities. Travel to client facilities to perform activities such as implementing cybersecurity solutions or performing security assessment activities, such as physical security walks, observations, technical configuration reviews, and personnel interviews. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with various vendors and types of Industrial Control System (ICS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) equipment including PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
- Experience with common industrial network protocols such as Modbus and EthernetIP
- Knowledge of how to install, setup, and modify PLC and operator interface (HMI) systems software for upgrades, additions, and to resolve issues
- Knowledge of any automation or control systems programming software
- Ability to analyze and suggest recommended improvements to the industrial control system programs and systems to meet industry standards and best practices
- HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with cybersecurity, including risk management, vulnerability assessments, security assessments, strategy and program development, network architecture designs, and monitoring solutions
- Experience with cybersecurity standards and best practices and how to integrate them
- Experience with IEC 62443, NIST SP 800 82, NERC CIP, NEI 08 09, or other industrial control regulations
- Experience with systems security engineering, design engineering, security tests and evaluations, and risk assessments for SCADA, ICS, and enterprise-level IT systems, including risk management, vulnerability assessments, security assessments, strategy and program development, network architecture designs, and monitoring solutions
- Experience with analyzing vulnerability and security risk assessment tool results, including DoD SCAP or Nessus
- Ability to create cybersecurity documentation, including security policy analysis, plans, and procedures
- Possession of excellent research and analytical skills
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree
- Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professional (GICSP), Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
