Senior Vice President, Technology – Full Time – Charlottesville, VA
SUMMARY: The Senior Vice President of Technology is responsible for leading and overseeing the technology strategy and operations within the financial institution. This role involves managing a team of IT professionals, ensuring the alignment of technology initiatives with business goals, and driving innovation to enhance the institution's competitive edge. Additionally, this position is responsible for the Technology Service Desk, Application Management, and Technology Infrastructure teams. Reporting to the CIO, the incumbent fills an integral role supporting the institution's success, ensuring that technology initiatives are strategically aligned with business goals, operations run smoothly and securely, and the institution is prepared for any disruptions. This role demands a blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and strong leadership capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer to develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the institution's business goals.
- Act as a technology advisor, offering insights and recommendations to drive business growth and innovation.
- Identify opportunities for leveraging and the implementation of RPA, Machine Learning, and AI to drive strategic initiatives, enhance business processes, and deliver innovative solutions aligned with the institution's goals.
- Engage with senior executives and key stakeholders to understand technology needs and provide effective solutions.
- Lead and inspire the technology team, promoting a culture of service excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish performance metrics, conduct regular evaluations, and implement strategies to enhance team productivity and engagement.
- Manage technology budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to optimize cost-effectiveness and service delivery.
- Oversee the operations of the technology department, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the CIO and VP of Information Security to implement robust cybersecurity measures, protecting sensitive financial data and ensuring regulatory compliance. Evaluate AI-based systems for real-time threat detection, identifying and mitigating security threats with greater accuracy and speed.
- Lead the adoption and management of cloud-based infrastructure and services, ensuring seamless integration with on-premises systems.
- Develop and implement strategies for infrastructure optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
- Oversee the management and optimization of the financial core processing platform, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement upgrades and enhancements to support business needs and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Ten or more years of experience in technology leadership roles, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a field required. Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent education or experience considered.
