Position Summary:
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of critical IT related projects, ensuring the efficient delivery of projects that are on time, within scope and within budget. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the planning, execution, and closure of multiple IT projects in a matrixed, enterprise environment, ensuring all deliverables are scoped and delivered in collaboration with stakeholders, external partners, and senior leadership.
- Develops detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Fosters strong relationships and communicates effectively with project teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitors project progress, including key performance indicators, milestones, and budgets.
- Identifies risks and implements mitigation strategies.
- Manages and directs IT resources, including team members, third-party contractors and vendors across projects and IT operations.
- Manages project portfolio lifecycle from demand management to project delivery
- Responsible to coordinate project prioritization and steering committees
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex IT projects from initiation to closure.
- Experience with Program Management Institute (PMI) concepts and practices as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
- Understanding and ability to practically apply concepts for Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies, including when and how to apply each.
- Able to manage simple to moderately complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization, including process documentation, project management artifacts and executive reporting.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly absorb and apply new knowledge as needed for a given project.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required; advanced degree or certifications in IT disciplines preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years of IT project/program management experience in a cross-functional, enterprise environment.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent preferred.
- Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Trello).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid models.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (specifically Azure), cybersecurity, and data management.
- Experience in the Healthcare industry preferred.
- Experience with EMR systems and related healthcare technologies preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL, databases, and data analysis tools preferred.
