We are pleased to announce multiple openings for Missile Defense Specialized Engineering Technical Staff at the Analyst III/IV and Engineer III/IV levels who will join our Engineering Services Team and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, and space control marketspaces. Qualified candidates will be part of an exceptional team supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission to develop and deploy a layered Missile Defense System to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends from missile attacks in all phases of flight.
Responsibilities:
Qualified candidates will be providing technical support for the MDA Technical, Engineering, Advisory and Management Support (TEAMS)-Next Specialized Engineering Analyses (SEA) contract. The unique, highly qualified SEA Team is critical to ensuring the MDA can rapidly develop and deploy Missile Defense System capabilities to defeat advanced missile threats by aggressively pursuing advanced concepts and technologies for leap-ahead capability in directed energy, hypersonic missile defense, radiation hardened electronics, space-based sensors, and Israeli defense systems. The SEA Team provides comprehensive Missile Defense System Developmental Test analyses, future Missile Defense System architecture modeling and design, advanced technology analyses, and specialized engineering support to improve the development, testing, and fielding of cybersecure and tamper-proof upgrades to Missile Defense System Elements.
nSI has openings for talented System Security Engineers and Analysts, Science and Technology Engineers and Analysts, and Advanced Concepts Engineers supporting multiple aspects of missile defense engineering, including efforts to support the integrated, layered Missile Defense System (MDS) and help advance concepts for future MDS inclusion. Activities could include supporting the Government with: Missile Threat Systems Engineering; Innovation, Science, and Technology; Directed Energy technology; Hypersonic Defense technology; Space systems technology; and System Security engineering/analysis.
The selected candidates will provide direct engineering and analysis support to the TEAMS-Next SEA Program. Duties include:
- Evaluate Missile Defense System capabilities and assess performance against projected threats
- Recommend and assess unconventional methods for missile defense and defeat
- Evaluate and implement novel system security methods and engineering approaches
- Document results in study and analysis reports, point papers, and briefings
- Develop new missile defense concepts and assess feasibility, characterize and assess the fundamental scientific requirements to realize new concepts, and document the results
- Perform mission and component analysis to establish capability and performance baselines
- Formulate and recommend strategies for achieving the desired Missile Defense System architecture in Capability Development and Science and Technology Roadmaps
Basic Qualifications:
At a minimum, qualified candidates must have:
Engineer III/IV
- A Bachelor’s (Level III) or Master’s (Level IV) degree in a technical field such as engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or computer science.
- At least 7 (Level III) or 12 (Level IV) years of full-time professional experience in a technical field related to missile defense and/or technical analysis of a complex Department of Defense (DoD) weapon system.
- Works independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems.
- Must be eligible to obtain or have an active SECRET clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and MS Office automation tool proficiency.
Analyst III/IV
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree (Level III) or Master of Science or Master of Arts degree (Level IV).
- At least 7 (Level III) or 12 (Level IV) years of full time professional experience working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project
- Works independently and/or leads sub-teams to analyze and resolve problems.
- Must be eligible to obtain or have an active SECRET clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and MS Office automation tool proficiency.
Lacking any one of these disqualifies any applicants from this job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience analyzing one or more Missile Defense System elements or components including Infrared (IR) or Radio Frequency (RF) sensor systems, missiles, space systems, communications systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communication (BMC3), and missile tracking systems.
- Preferred applicants will have experience in one or more of the following areas: conducting complex analytical studies, developing, or adapting analysis tools to suit needs, building reusable, well-documented MATLAB/Python utilities, assessing advanced concepts and technologies, and evaluating threat intelligence information as it pertains to new technology.
- Experience with MDA Systems Engineering processes.
