Control Systems Technician – Malvern, AR
SUMMARY
The Control Systems Technician is responsible for supporting the Malvern MDF & Moulding site Industrial Automation Control Systems (IACS) and Operational Technology (OT) Systems. This position reports to the Automation Specialist and will work closely with production shift supervisors, maintenance, and CI Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging knowledge of process and automation systems to eliminate waste, improve machine uptime, and efficiencies.
- Site lead for OT Systems and Cybersecurity, including, overall management of OT servers and software, networks, backups, policies, assessments, audits, and training.
- Implement software/firmware updates for PAC’s/PLC’s, VFD’s, SCADA, and HMI’s.
- Develop new/update graphic objects and pages for SCADA and HMI’s as needed.
- PLC/PAC Programming, including, revising existing code, integrating new equipment, migrations, and new development.
- Manage/Maintain site OT networks and equipment.
- Collaboration with maintenance personnel on efforts to maintain overall machine health.
- Use of trending tools to diagnose problems and gain process insight.
- Support capital project planning, installation, and commissioning of new automation or controls equipment and/or software.
- Maintain site Historian, reporting software, and control room dashboards.
- Support AMS Team as needed for MES to consume data from OT.
- Support entire site for any issue related to the ICS or an OT System.
- Communicate with all functional areas as needed.
- Enter appropriate work orders for all work.
- Support the team to resolve process related issues and during process upset conditions.
- Support the team to maintain activities for meeting, training, and on-shift vacation coverage.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s Degree or Technical Diploma. In the absence of such, Company will consider prior employment experience relevant to the position sought.
- 3 years experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience w/ RA Software and Allen-Bradley Hardware (Stuido/RSLogix 5000, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PowerFlex VFD’s).
- Experience with IT systems preferred.
- Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to respond to sudden changes in schedules based upon business needs.
- Be a self-starter that requires minimal work direction with the ability to work on multiple projects.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs required
