Applications Developer and Integrator
The Organization
North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.
Supervision
Receives general supervision from the Sr Applications and Project Manager.
Job Summary
This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating software applications that meet the needs of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in application development, programming languages, and the ability to seamlessly integrate diverse software systems.
Core Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and debug software applications based on business requirements.
- Develop both front-end and back-end components to create robust and scalable applications.
- Integrate new and existing software applications to ensure seamless functionality across systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective and efficient integration solutions.
- Design databases to support application development and integration efforts.
- Work with DBA to optimize database performance for the supported applications and ensure data integrity.
- Create and maintain APIs to facilitate communication between different software systems.
- Ensure API security and adherence to industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough testing of applications and integrations to identify and resolve issues.
- Implement quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Document software design, development, and integration processes.
- Create user manuals and technical documentation as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A combination of experience and certifications may be substituted.
Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience as an Applications Developer with expertise in integration.
- Proficiency with IBM i-series RPG programming and CL
- Knowledge of PowerBI report development
- Proficiency with SharePoint online and on-prem administration and development
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server), including knowledge of SSRS.
- Strong understanding of API development and integration principles.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Therefore Document Management system.
- Knowledge of Forms Print application.
- Experience with integration of i-series applications with external systems.
- Experience with migrating SharePoint on-prem to online and understanding cybersecurity principles of the migration.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Essential Requirements
Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation, or acceptable substitute, required.
