TechOnPurpose (“TOP”) is seeking an experienced National Sales Director (“NSD”) to help build and lead a nationwide team of sales professionals committed to successful tailoring of managed computing, collaboration, connectivity, contracting, cloud and cybersecurity services for direct and channel partner clients throughout the continental United States. The NSD will be responsible for assessing and advancing legacy sales models, comp plans, growth of direct reps and channel partners, and target revenue attainment for both.
Ideal candidates will be proactive thinkers, experienced in proven methodologies of sales leadership success, with a sharp aptitude for critical thinking, rapid learning and excellent communication and customer service skills. Candidates must possess strong attention to detail, enjoy working as part of a team, be able to successfully multitask and thrive on being successful in high stress environments. Qualified candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, a confident presence and the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Hit the ground floor and build a world-class direct and channel sales organization capable of consistently reaching and exceeding direct and channel sales targets.
- Monitor relevant market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Assess and improve sales strategies including sales plans, forecasts and direct team comp plans.
- Assess and refine criteria for successful direct team hiring and retention throughout the designated territory.
- Assess and improve channel recruitment & retention strategies designed to foster rapid success, from committed and contributing channel partners with highly satisfied clients.
- Work with Product Development and Marketing Communication teams to identify critical success factors and strategies for high margin, high growth products for direct and channel partners.
- Work with Sales Engineering teams to recruit and retain industry leading engineers capable of strong cohesion with direct team and channel partners, designing and estimating simple to complex technology solutions across the TOP product portfolio.
- Build and maintain a Sales Operations team to support high-volume/quality technical design and estimating processes.
- Develop and maintain a best-of-breed client success (“CSM”) team capable of establishing and maintaining high customer retention with consistent upsell success.
- Work in harmony with Global sales peers and channel partners to foster shared sales success that transcends borders and industries, propelling TOP’s innovative technology solutions to unparalleled heights, with high closing rates for new customers, and unmatched retention rates.
- Work with senior leadership to develop and maintain key metrics and sales KPI dashboards.
- Develop strategies and tools for direct/partner development, capable of elevating and motivating individual and team performance as only an experienced, engaged and caring sales leader could.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business, marketing, or related field.
- 8+ years of strong experience in dynamic sales & sales leadership roles.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to sustainably meet quota, and drive sales team success with 80% of sales reps at or above quota.
- High effectiveness in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in delivering finely tuned, customer facing project plans and oversight.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- A passion for helping people solve problems and a proven ability to understand technology concepts.
- Highly organized self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to solve multiple, complex issues and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in managing budgets, expenses, and forecasts.
