Job DescriptionBAE Systems’ Intelligence & Security (I&S) Sector, Intelligence Solutions (IS) Business Area is seeking a Business Development (BD) Director to lead our efforts at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Reporting directly to the (IS) Vice President, Business Development, the CISA BD Director will serve as the liaison between the Government and BAE Systems providing insight on customer mission objectives and BAE Systems capabilities.
This position will be responsible for the analysis of CISA requirements, strategic objectives, funding profiles, and organizational dynamics to identify, prioritize and develop new business opportunities. This position requires an understanding of the CISA mission and access to key stakeholders in their organization. This individual is accountable for annual metrics on pipeline identification; opportunity qualification; submit and awards goals; and consistent levels of customer engagement.
This position is located in Sterling, VA with a hybrid work option. Regular travel to customer and company locations is required.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop BAE Systems go-to market strategy for CISA
- Identify and develop a multiyear CISA pipeline supporting our strategy
- Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships
- Develop and execute opportunity specific Government and Industry contact plans
- Lead development of opportunity specific customer value propositions and cost strategies
- Participate in new business funding (NBF) and internal research and development (IR&D) planning and management
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related discipline. Military experience can be substituted.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant business development experiences to include meaningful DHS expertise. Prior military or civilian services may be substituted.
- Demonstrated experiences in delivering technology solutions to Federal Government
- Track record of success in leading and winning contracts >$50M
- Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders within the federal civilian community
- Experience leading opportunity captures including: developing overall win strategy; shaping deals with customers; developing teaming strategies; identifying and closing with teammates; understanding pricing and assist in developing winning price
- Demonstrated background in solution selling, developing new markets, with proven leadership from inception to fruition of a strategic campaign
- Direct and support new business development opportunities to improve the company’s business portfolio to include marketing and customer call plans
- Ability to develop, document, and execute a plan for achieving awards/growth
- Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
- Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the market
- Excellent writing, communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers
