Your Role
As a mid-senior level Cyber Security Engineer, you will be working with other highly skilled Security Engineers, as well as more junior analysts, to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Gensler data and information systems. Collaborating as a member of the Security Operations team, you will be on the forefront of designing and utilizing unique security solutions, providing seamless security to global architecture and design teams. You will work closely with the full range of I.T. engineers and administrators to strengthen enterprise cybersecurity worldwide.
What You Will Do
- Identify and resolve cybersecurity threats to the global firm as well as being proactive to protect the firm from anticipated threats.
- Work with a team of security experts to advance a nonconventional approach to security operations, while developing into more broad and senior roles and responsibilities.
- Not just a “ticket cruncher”, your work with Gensler’s trouble ticket system will be bidirectional as you review security processes and work with the support desk to design new, automated, efficient processes within an ITIL, CIS CSC, SOC2, CMMC, or ISO 27001 security frameworks.
- Additional tasks as required.
Your Qualifications

Required:
- 5 years minimum cybersecurity experience, with at least 2 years’ experience in a security operations role, preferably in a global enterprise
Bachelor's degree:
- Preferred: Comp Sci, or Business (with MIS or InfoSec focus)
- Acceptable: Non-Tech degree with additional 3 years of enterprise I.T. experience
Cybersecurity certifications:
- Preferred: CISSP or GISP (GIAC InfoSec Professional)
- Acceptable: A combination of certifications which demonstrates achievement of the 8 Domains of Cybersecurity Knowledge
- Provide an explanation of which certs meet each of the 8 domains
Additional Preferred Technical Experience in any of the following security toolset categories:

- LogRythm, Exabeam, MS Sentinel
- Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) / Secure Access, Service Edge (SASE):
- Zscaler, Netscope, PAN Prisma
Non-Technical Requirements:
- US Citizenship is required due to government contracts and facility work,
- Successful completion of a background check is required, as this person will be managing sensitive business information
- Strong written & verbal communication skills in the English language. Bilingual a plus.
- Comfortable performing systems administration in an open office and social environment
- Available 24/7/365 during a security incident in order to collaborate with our team.
- Able to work in a Gensler Los Angeles regional office 5 work days per week
The compensation range in Los Angeles is estimated at $140k-$150k plus bonuses and benefits and contingent upon relevant experience.
