The Collins Applied Signal Technology (AST) Security organization is hiring a Information System Security Officer (ISSO) based at our San Jose, CA site. This position will report locally to the Local RAST IA Section manager in San Jose, CA.
It will also coordinate and collaborate with the local Industrial Security Team at this location. The position performs the functions of an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for Applied Signal Technology, Inc. information systems and networks, which involves a diverse and multi-faceted customer base, including DOD, SAP/SAR, and SCI.
What You Will Do
Will be responsible for interpreting and implementing government and national department regulations and policies, which requires establishment, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive and compliant computer security program.
Will be responsible for oversight of destruction and release procedures for systems, components and media, and must be able to apply test and evaluation procedures, configuration management concepts, and risk management.
Will perform computer security functions as assigned, including preparation and submission of System Security Plans (SSPs), computer security briefings, computer/network security audits, inventories, virus definition updates, and conducts security investigations.
Will require some travel and working at other offices from time to time or as needed
Will work with PM, Network engineers and System Administrators to ensure compliant Information Systems and Network architecture for classified systems.
Qualifications You Must Have:
2+ years of experience as an Information Systems Security Analyst, security engineering, or IT experience that includes Cybersecurity
Experience supporting computer hardware platforms and multiple operating systems in both stand-alone and LAN/WAN configurations
Working knowledge of operating systems security features and settings (e.g., Windows, Unix/Linux)
Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
TS/SCI Clearance and must have the ability to obtain SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph.
Education, Experience, Skills & Certifications
Qualifications We Prefer:
DoD 8570 certification IAM Level I certification within first 6 months of hire (Security+ CE/CISSP or equivalent certification)
TS/SCI Clearance and must have the ability to obtain SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph preferred
Experience as an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) or Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)
Working knowledge of the aspects of information systems security as it applies to NISPOM, DAAPM, JSIG, ICD 503, NIST SPs, and other government doctrines
Firm understanding of (ICD 503) and corporate security policy and processes and Implementation of Splunk and Splunk dashboards are a plus; understanding of Networks and gear to include (Cisco, Brocade, etc.)
Proficiency with LINUX considered. Mainly Rocky8 and Rocky9 are a plus.

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
