Software Engineer II
Contingent upon Contract Award
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Software Engineer II who will be key in providing technical support to NAVWAR.
- Located in San Diego, CA
Job Description:
- Assists in various types of electronic systems such as C4I, Combat Systems, Communication Systems, etc., Duties include system design, integration, modification, testing, installation engineering, and design engineering, developing, and reviewing equipment test plans and procedures, conducting analyses, analyzing test results, and recommending design changes to bring systems into compliance with design/performance specifications.
- Adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
- Coordinates, computes, or synthesizes engineering or technical data. Uses prescribed mathematical formulae and/or models to calculate measures of performance characteristics for electronic systems. Supervises technical staff assigned to project.
- Duties include the training of project personnel in the procedures and approaches available for the work effort.
Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, physics, management information systems, or other related engineering or computer science discipline and at least 3 years in related experience.
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience performing software engineering management, reduction, and analysis of data, designing tests, and laboratory analyses, including scientific analyses and interpretation of research results.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience with software engineering that includes software planning, requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, debugging, and installing large scale software systems. This experience must also include how to estimate, measure and report quality and progress of the software development effort.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active Top Secret DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain one.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel- less than 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. - Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
