Senior System Software Engineer-153683
THE ROLE:
AMD - Xilinx is looking for an experienced kernel/hypervisor (Xen, Linux, etc.) engineer to work on cutting-edge Xen on ARM features with the upstream Open-Source community. Xen on ARM is key to many embedded architectures; it enables static partitioning, real-time workloads, and micro-virtualization for containers security, among other things. From industrial to medical and automotive, high-profile embedded deployments make use of Xen to run real-time embedded applications alongside larger Linux environments without interference.
THE PERSON:
Candidates should be comfortable working with the Xen hypervisor and the Linux kernel. Ideally, they have experience interacting with Open-Source communities, and made upstream code contributions.
KEY RESPONISIBILITES:
In this role you will:
- Design and implementation of new Xen on ARM features from start to finish
- Design and implementation of new virtualization components in the Linux kernel
- Learn new hardware specifications and devise new techniques to virtualize them
- Code upstreaming to Xen and Linux kernel
PREFERRED EXPERIECE:
- Expertise with the development of Linux, or Xen, or other hypervisors / operating system kernels
- Experience in performing collaborative Open-Source development projects and effectively interacting with members of Open Source communities is highly desirable
- Self-driven and capable of self-learning
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
BS with 5+ years of related experience or MS with 3+ years of related experience in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related equivalent.
