Job Description:
Software Development engineer with 5 - 10 years’ experience in native/embedded application development. Software Development Engineer will work within a team environment addressing new designs, trouble report analysis, and test design/development for automated testing throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Essential Functions:
- Experience to understand and produce object-oriented designs and implementations in C/C++ within an embedded environment.
- willingness to learn and work within a team environment focused on implementing IP networking solutions within software-defined radios running on QNX or Linux
- The product family has an extensive software code base executing on multiple embedded GPP, DSP, and FPGA devices and relies on the Software Communications Architecture (SCA) and CORBA middleware for component interaction.
- Experience with UML modeling, SlickEdit or Visual Studio to edit code, Git for version control, and Jira for issue and project tracking and expects candidate to be familiar with the same or similar tools.
- The software is generated using Make and the GNU toolchain. Test automation relies on Bamboo/Jenkins and Shell or Python scripting along with C# .NET and experience in those areas is a bonus.
- Travel requirements typically is minimal and less than 10%.
- Security clearance in not mandatory but candidate may be required to obtain a secret clearance for future projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical / Computer Engineering or related field
- Experience implementing and/or configuring common networking protocols (Ethernet, IP, UDP/TCP, IPSec, RIP, OSPF, PIM) as well as the POSIX socket API is a definite plus.
- Experience working within a SW Agile development environment.
- The ideal candidate will be process oriented, understand, and produce object-oriented designs and implementations in C/C++ within an embedded environment. The candidate must possess a willingness to learn and work within a team environment focused on implementing IP networking solutions within software-defined radios running on QNX or Linux.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $78,000 - $145,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
