About the Team
The UI Platform team at Snowflake accelerates the productivity of Snowflake’s UI engineers by providing the core libraries and building blocks used to build intuitive, performant, secure and consistent product experiences. Our mission is to enable our broader Product Experience teams to move faster with higher quality. We’re responsible for a number of areas including our UI component library, design system, testing frameworks, frontend observability and horizontal experiences. In short, we take care of the UI infrastructure so product teams at Snowflake can focus on building great user experiences and ship fearlessly.
What you’ll do
We are looking for a software engineer focused on Frontend Developer Productivity. You will work with our UI Platform team to define, drive and deliver investments that will accelerate the velocity, quality and consistency of our user experiences.
In this role you will focus on frontend developer productivity including:
- Improving our frontend build and hot reload times so product engineers have tight feedback loops and can move quickly, even as the size of our codebase grows.
- Enhancing our frontend observability to enable developers to gain the insights they need to improve performance and stability of our applications
- Defining our approach to testing, type safety, and our overall strategy to improve code and product quality
- Build tools that allow our developers and product teams to prototype, build, change, test and debug product experiences more rapidly.
- Serve as a technical resource and engineering mentor for other frontend developers.

Who you are
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, and TypeScript / JavaScript
- Experience building with modern JavaScript frameworks (ie: React, Vue, Solid, Svelte, etc.) and build tools (Vite, Webpack / RSPack, Rollup, etc.)
- Experience building and maintaining tooling that enables your cross-team colleagues to succeed.
- Experience understanding, troubleshooting, and resolving client-side performance issues
- Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:
- The estimated base salary range for this role is $214,000 - $327,750.
- Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
