Position Responsibilities:
The Navigation Software Engineer - Inertial Navigation Focus will be responsible for…
- Developing algorithms for localization of unmanned vehicles and sensor systems
- Designing and implementing software using C/C++ in a Linux environment.
- Documenting activities, preparing technical reports, presenting results, and demonstrating system capabilities
- Traveling for field tests and project meetings may be required
- Testing in outdoor conditions may be required
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge in state estimation, Kalman filtering, non-linear optimization, etc
- Experience working with Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors
- Experience developing and implementing sensor fusion algorithms (inertial, GNSS and odometer)
- Strong programming ability in C/C++
Education & Experience:
- A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Linux environment and experience in developing software for real-time operating systems.
- Experience participating in safety-critical software development lifecycle
Office Location: Clarksburg, MD
Tele-work Opportunities: On-site preferred but will consider remote work.
Travel Requirements:
- If remote, travel to the office in Clarksburg, MD will be required. If on-site, no travel is expected for this position.
