As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Administration, we look first and foremost for people who are passionate around solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Job responsibilities
- Be an active developer and contributor to the team’s delivery. Take the lead on solving and implementing difficult technology challenges and drive our team to successful delivery
- Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
- Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
- Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
- Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
- Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
- Ensure responsibility for the technical integrity of our team's delivery
- Partner in the analysis and estimation of future work impacting our team. Partner with the Scrum Master/agility Lead to lead our team in breaking down complex Features/Stories into well understood and achievable tasks. Partner with Architects on the design and architecture for our team's deliverables
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Hands-on development experience working with core enterprise-based Java, Spring boot technologies, CI/CD pipelines and SQL/NoSQL Data structures
- Proficiency in React and micro front end development
- Experience in event driven architecture and object modeling (familiarity with Model-driven development), kafka – streaming
- Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
- Exposure to Business Process Modeling and Notation and creation of orchestration services and containers
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working at code level
- Experience with Graph databases such Property Graphs (Neo4J, Datastax Graph) or Semantic/Knowledge Graphs (AWS Neptune) as well as graph processing languages such as Gremlin, Cypher and SparQL is a plus
