ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Applied Controls algorithm modeling, design, and implementation for high voltage and high-power systems
- Expert in embedded software development in support and optimize for control systems
- Experienced in mixed mode Analog and Digital control system modeling, design, and implementation
- Contributing to technical proposals for developing new projects and business.
- Lead development of control system design and architectures for existing and new products.
- Leading portions of large, complex, formal documents, such as project reports, journal articles, conference papers, and presentations
- Support new programs from conceptual design, through detail design to completion.
- Provide control systems technical leadership for the design team.
- Perform control systems analysis of power conversion equipment and system architectures.
- Write product and test specifications pertaining control systems.
- Recommends corrections in technical approach to maximize efficiency of engineering resources.
- Provides expert guidance with a variety of control systems engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
- Scientist Controls Engineer will take directions from Project Engineer or Software Engineering Department Manager.
- Ability to travel up to 10%.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer / Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a four-year college or university; and minimum 12 years of experience in design and analysis of control systems for power conversion equipment or minimum 10 years of prior related work experience with Master of Science degree. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. Advanced degree of MS or PHD is preferred.
- 10+ years experience with design familiarity and control systems for power system architectures and power conversion equipment.
- 10+ years hands on experience as expert knowledge of control theory and simulation analysis applications, MATLAB / SIMULINK.
- Proven tract record with defining, designing, deploying of Digital Twin (DT) modeling and simulation of complex physical system.
- Experienced in control algorithm deployment in embedded real-time systems design and expertise in the practical implementation of control system algorithms.
- Experienced in object and service-based software architectures.
- Expertise with digital signal processing, machine to machine communications, and fiber optics-based communications subsystems.
- Must be able to work as a key member of the design team with Power Design Engineers, Digital and Analog Engineers, System Engineers, Software Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers.
- Proven effective communication with Senior Project Management and customer representatives is essential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOD Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrate DT capability as automatable testing and verification target is strongly preferred
- Experience in development of military, aerospace, or medical products.
- Knowledge in Digital and Microcomputer circuits, embedded SOC, a plus.
- Exposure programming language of C/C++, knowledge of Python and Object-Oriented Programing (OOP) is preferred.
- Expertise with communication protocols, such as RS-232, RS-485, and Ethernet.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $155,500 - $288,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
