Position Summary
The School of Business and Technology invites applications for an exciting new opportunity at Holy Family University--Program Director, Cybersecurity. This new role will play an integral part in launching Holy Family University’s new Cybersecurity major, as well as its state-of-the-art Center for Cybersecurity located in Newtown, PA.
Candidates for this role should possess the entrepreneurial spirit and administrative acumen required to build and operate a Center for Cybersecurity that will serve the Holy Family campus, students and the surrounding community. Candidates should have a commitment to excellence in teaching, diversity, scholarship, and service, as well as an understanding of the mission of Catholic higher education and be committed to the core values, mission, goals and objectives of Holy Family University.
This is a 12-month position located in Newtown, PA with occasional duties on the NE Philadelphia campus
Responsibilities for the Program Director, Cybersecurity, include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership, guidance, management and support in creating and maintaining the Center for Cybersecurity on Holy Family University’s Newtown, PA campus.
- Build awareness of the Center offerings and recruit community partners for training opportunities.
- Collaborate with external subject matter experts to create the Cybersecurity program.
- Monitor and update Cybersecurity and associated IT courses to ensure industry relevance.
- Teach courses and advise students in assigned discipline as needed.
- Engage in research and scholarship opportunities.
- Maintain academic excellence in their classrooms, and require the same from faculty in the program.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to faculty in the program.
- Participate in school and university-wide committees and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines with a focus on Cybersecurity. Candidates with a master’s degree in the above discipline and extensive work experience in the field will also be considered.
- Experience managing a university led program/center strongly preferred.
- Prior teaching experience and experience managing a curriculum in IT/Cybersecurity a plus.
