Job Description
The Lead IT Project Manager acts, in accordance with PMI standards, as the principle project
manager for large and / or complex IT programs and projects. The primary roles and responsibilities
include the activities required to plan, execute and deliver all relevant aspects of the assigned IT
programs or projects. These aspects include project scope, deliverables, timing and costs, as well as
successfully managing and mitigating project issues and risks. In addition, this role provides
coaching and mentoring to less experienced IT project managers, ensuring best practices are
adopted enterprise wide.
Specific Accountabilities:
1.Manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all Project Management relevant tasks
in the assigned program or project. This includes planning, estimating, scheduling, organizing,
documenting, tracking and monitoring activities. Areas of special focus include change control,
financial tracking and issue & risk management.
2.Leads the project team by allocating and monitoring tasks, motivating staff, and providing
individual performance data to resource managers for personal appraisals.
3.Liaises with other managers within the IT function and within the business to manage
expectations for the assigned programs or projects.
4.Utilizes standard PM processes and methods specifically for IT projects.
5.Ensures that project metrics and lessons learned are appropriately documented and communicated
for the benefit of other staff and future projects.
6.Helps to ensure the growth and success of project managers by providing training and mentoring
in the established policies, processes and procedures, as well as PM tools and templates.
7.Interact with Security leadership and project teams and resources to drive project objectives
8.Manage intersections with necessary groups across IT (e.g. TCOM, Network, Architecture,
Midrange, and Desktop)
9.Interact as needed with service providers and vendors, 3rd parties, and alliance partners
10.Coordinate and facilitate multiple IT security projects across different security technology
solutions, managing execution across individual active projects within a larger program
11.Manage all project documentation, create key project deliverables (project initiation, scope
management, issues lists, sub-team status reports, communications and communication plans,
project plans, resource planning, RACI, budget, documentation, specifications)
12.Need to project manage global teams, and global execution with multiple vendor management
13.Also assist with project close, create operational support documentation and transition to
operations
14.Manage project risks and issues
15.Collaboration across a distributed global team and user community
16.Collect and assemble requirements and design documentation
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Engineering is required, with working knowledge of information systems. A Masters degree.

Six-Sigma certification
Minimum 10+ year’s professional experience
PMP certification from PMI is required
One or more of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, CRISC or related SANS certifications
