Job Description
Your Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Principal DevSecOps Engineer to join our Software Engineering Practices organization. This internal role is pivotal in providing hands-on coaching and guidance to our software engineering teams, with a strong focus on adopting and integrating DevOps practices.
You will be responsible for:
- Provide direct support and mentorship to engineering teams, helping them implement and optimize DevOps practices.
- Develop and share best practices for software development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure low-friction adoption and seamless integration of DevOps practices.
- Assist teams in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges related to DevOps tools and processes, and software engineering practices.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to upskill team members on DevOps tools and techniques.
- Foster a supportive environment, understanding the challenges developers face and providing empathetic guidance.
- Lead and coach teams in all aspects of SDLC, including solutioning, designing, testing, securing, and implementing.
The experience you bring:
- Minimum of 10 plus years of experience in software engineering and DevOps practices. Experience in software architecture is a plus.
- Fundamental knowledge of DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in software engineering in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Node.JS, and .Net.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with scripting for process automation.
- Proven track record of leading and mentoring technical teams.
- Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Experience with open source and InnerSource software engineering practices, including contributing to and managing open-source projects, and fostering a culture of collaboration and shared code within the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred. Relevant fields include Engineering, Business, and Education.
- Relevant certifications in DevOps, Agile methodologies, or cloud technologies are a plus.
