Fulcrum are seeking a System Administrator with a strong foundation in log management tools to support our IT infrastructure and enhance our system administration capabilities. This role focuses on deploying, configuring, and maintaining various log management systems to ensure seamless data collection and log management across our organization. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for racking, installing, and maintaining physical servers, and responding to application and server monitoring alerts to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will be technically curious, eager to learn new technologies, and committed to staying current with industry advancements. They will enjoy working with complex systems and have a passion for maintaining and optimizing IT environments.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain different log management tools, optimizing system performance and reliability.
- Rack, install, and maintain physical servers, ensuring proper setup, cabling, and hardware configuration.
- Monitor and manage system performance, addressing and resolving issues related to log management, server hardware, and system administration.
- Respond to application and server monitoring alerts, diagnosing and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain system availability.
- Collaborate with customers to integrate log management solutions and server setups into their infrastructures and workflows.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for system administration processes, server management, log management, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide training and support to customers on effective log data usage, server management, and system administration.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in log management, server hardware, and system administration technologies to suggest improvements and new solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role, with a focus on log management tools, server hardware, and system monitoring.
- Strong understanding of data collection methodologies, log analysis techniques, server maintenance, and application monitoring best practices.
- Familiarity with popular log management tools such as Splunk, Logstash, or ELK Stack.
- Experience with authentication and authorization systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Capability in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and tool customization.
