Overview
The Alumni Recovery Support Specialist is responsible for providing ongoing support and guidance to individuals who have completed our IOP program, helping them maintain long-term sobriety by providing recovery coaching and coordinating alumni activities. It emphasizes support, relationship-building, and community involvement, key elements of post-treatment recovery. This role combines elements of recovery coaching with alumni relations, focusing on creating a strong, supportive network for program graduates. The Alumni Recovery Support Specialist will serve as a bridge between the treatment center and alumni, fostering a sense of community and encouraging active participation in recovery activities.
Key Responsibilities
Alumni Engagement & Support:
- Provide one-on-one coaching and recovery support to alumni, helping them navigate challenges in early recovery and maintaining engagement with the recovery community.
- Offer encouragement, accountability, and resources to assist alumni in their continued sobriety.
Aftercare Coordination:
- Develop and implement aftercare plans for alumni, including recommending relevant recovery groups, sober living resources, and continued therapeutic services.
- Coordinate and facilitate ongoing recovery check-ins, either through regular phone calls, emails, or in-person meetings.
Alumni Networking & Community Building:
- Organize and facilitate alumni events, including group meetings, reunions, and social gatherings, to strengthen the alumni network and create a sense of camaraderie.
- Encourage alumni participation in support groups, sober activities, and local recovery communities to help maintain long-term recovery.
Referral & Resource Management:
- Provide alumni with referrals to local resources, such as therapy, support groups, or sober living programs, as needed.
- Stay informed about community resources and emerging trends in recovery to offer alumni up-to-date information and referrals.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track alumni progress, offer continued support, and monitor any signs of relapse or struggles in the recovery process.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure that alumni receive the appropriate ongoing care and support when needed.
Confidentiality & Documentation:
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding all alumni-related matters and comply with privacy regulations.
- Keep accurate records of alumni interactions, progress, and follow-up actions, ensuring that the data is updated regularly.
Experience Requirements
- 3+ years of event coordination experience
- 3+ years of experience pertaining to recovery and substance use, alumni relations, or community engagement
- Certified Recovery Coach preferred
- Prior experience in sales and/or customer service

Job Type: Full Time
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
Schedule: Day Shift, Evening Shift, Weekends as Needed
