Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Network Engineer located in Luckey, OH. We are a dog friendly office!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the performance, reliability, and reputation of a regional service provider network.
- Analyzes networks to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, scalability, and security. Recommends upgrades/ changes as necessary.
- Manage peering, including recommend and negotiate transit and transport for upstream and peering connectivity, with a focus on redundancy, diversity, and reliability.
- Manage DOS prevention and mitigation strategies.
- Provide Leadership and mentoring.
- Positive attitude with a passion for learning technology.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 4 years’ experience in ISP network design, management, and support.
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Engineering/ Computer Science.
- Experience maintaining ISP networks.
- Experience deploying optical networks.
- Advanced knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLAN, and other related technologies.
- Experience with Juniper and Ciena.
- Knowledge of CGNAT,IPAM, MPLS, BNG, OSPF, IS-IS, IPV4, IPV6, VRF.
PREFERRED/ DESIRED SKILLS
- WAN design and optimization.
- Experience with network automation tools.
- Knowledge of VoIP.
- Working knowledge of Linux, Unix, MS Office, Visio.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Familiarity with Puppet, Ansible.

- Knowledge of optical theory, transport technologies and the operation of optical transport systems.
- Experience with field-based work in POPs, carrier hotels, data centers and central office environments.
- Familiarity with modern DWDM network architectures and equipment.
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Salary: $75,000-$95,000 (dependent on experience).
