Cyber Security Analyst - Entry Level - Cryptography IT Technician
Overview: A leading technology company is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst - Cryptography IT Technician to provide technical expertise and guidance for small to medium-sized projects, products, or workstreams. This role involves effective communication of needs, progression of engineering solutions, and assistance to external customers with troubleshooting software and hardware issues, as well as application installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the program manager with technical challenges.
- Support the generation and management of encryption keys for PCI and non-PCI applications.
- Collaborate with the project team to define, document, and address issues encountered in the field.
- Deliver engineering solutions within budget, schedule, and agreed-upon scope.
- Interface with customers regarding engineering requirements, issues, and project updates.
- Provide technical support for customers, including technical presentations and workshops.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration using tools like Confluence, SharePoint, and Slack.
- Monitor software development activities and status through Jira.
- Identify and resolve defects while tracking testing status with TestRail.
- Collaborate with internal departments, customer representatives, third-party suppliers, and stakeholders for issue resolution.
- Partner with functional engineering managers to address customer needs with additional resources.
- Communicate with customers and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions or workarounds.
- Manage support requests and customer expectations throughout the deployment support process to ensure satisfaction.
- Document all relevant details from initial issue reports through troubleshooting and resolution.
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex customer issues, escalating as necessary to the Program Manager and Engineering team.
- Provide timely, professional responses to customers regarding complex technical problems.
- Some travel may be required to support various projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer systems engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of encryption technologies (AES, DES, RSA, EC) and experience with hardware security modules (HSMs) and key management, particularly in the payment industry (DUKPT).
- Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), including certificate management and renewal cycles.
- Experience in creating, analyzing, documenting, and testing system designs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Basic knowledge of project management principles and the ability to work under project deadlines.
- Proven ability to support the Program Manager in maintaining engineering project schedules and budgets.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Some leadership experience in team-building is preferred.
