Job Description:
BassPass is seeking a visionary Co-founder & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with expertise in large-scale application development, security-first architecture, and cutting-edge algorithms. As CTO and co-founder, you will drive the technical vision, overseeing the development of a resilient, scalable ticketing platform tailored for high-traffic EDM events.
This position is equity-based initially, transitioning to a paid role once we achieve product-market fit and secure sustainable revenue. Ideal candidates will also consider an investment in the company to align further with BassPass’s growth goals.

Responsibilities:
• Define and execute a forward-thinking technology strategy that supports BassPass’s rapid growth ambitions.
• Architect and implement robust, scalable solutions using the MERN stack, with an emphasis on sustainability and security.
• Lead containerization efforts (Docker, Kubernetes) to improve deployment efficiency and enable scalable infrastructure.
• Ensure comprehensive data security compliance, managing risks tied to high-volume financial transactions.
• Develop adaptable algorithms that enhance platform performance, allowing the system to scale as user demand increases.
• Implement best practices in modularity, reusability, and separation of concerns, setting the foundation for future expansion.
Requirements:
• 4+ years of software development experience, particularly in scaling high-load applications.
• Prior experience as a CTO or technical co-founder in a growth-focused startup, with demonstrated success in scaling architecture.
• Advanced knowledge of MERN stack, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.), with an understanding of cost control, elasticity, and optimization.
• Strong background in algorithms, system design, and performance optimization.
• Demonstrated leadership ability in building and managing top-performing engineering teams.
• Equity-based compensation with co-founder equity. Open to candidates interested in investing in BassPass to enhance alignment with our goals.
