Responsibilities
As a
Systems Engineer IV, you will play a critical role in the continuous evaluation and enhancement of server infrastructure capabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Infrastructure Evaluation: Conduct ongoing assessments of new and existing server infrastructure capabilities and features to ensure alignment with requirements for both existing applications and new product services.
- Architectural Collaboration: Participate in architectural discussions with internal and external peers to ensure proposed solutions meet business and operational needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and operational teams to understand their requirements and challenges, recommending effective solutions.
- Automation Responsibilities: Automate compute and storage certification processes, bare metal provisioning, and domain-specific automations to streamline operations.
- Documentation Management: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Compute Certifications, Implementation guides, bulletins, and design specifications.
What’s Needed?
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Extensive experience in administering, integrating, and designing data center infrastructure solutions. This includes:
- Rack/blade server hardware
- Virtualization platforms
- SAN switching
- Storage technologies
- Basic networking
- Cloud Management Platforms
- Technical Expertise: Solid experience with Cisco UCS B-Series infrastructure and UCS Manager.
- Container Technologies: Working knowledge of Workflow Orchestration platforms and container technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker.
- Technical Drawings: Experience in creating technical drawings and schematics using tools such as Lucidchart or Visio.
