The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect our organization's network infrastructure, particularly in the context of space applications. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in C/C++ and Rust, along with proficiency in scripting languages like Python. This role requires expertise in network protocols, security architecture, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust network security architectures to protect sensitive data related to space missions and operations.
- Develop custom security tools and automation scripts using C/C++, Rust, and Python to enhance security measures and streamline security monitoring.
- Monitor network traffic for anomalies and potential threats, utilizing advanced security technologies and best practices.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and address weaknesses in the network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the secure integration of software applications and systems used in space projects.
- Respond to security incidents, performing thorough investigations and coordinating with relevant teams for remediation.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Proficiency in programming languages, particularly C/C++ and Rust, along with strong scripting skills in Python.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other network security technologies.
- Experience with security assessment tools and frameworks, including vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and applicable aerospace security guidelines.
