The Security Manager, Senior shall manage the classified information and personnel security programs for the Project Director for Enterprise Services and provide physical and personnel security guidance, education and training support. The Security Manager, Senior serves as the direct advisor in matters regarding the eligibility of personnel to access classified information and to be assigned to sensitive duties.
- Receives, reviews, and processes requests for investigations, security clearances, and reports of unfavorable information.
- Responds to a wide variety of personnel security requests from higher/subordinate activities and other government agencies such as the Defense Investigative Service and the Officer of Personnel Management.
- Reviews results of personnel security investigations, summarizes unfavorable information, and notifies appropriate officials when a suitability determination is warranted. Responsible for the handling of personnel security records with the highest degree of discretion.
- Monitors status on personnel requiring documentation of personnel security investigation and/or security clearance. Maintains and manages a database for all permanent party and contract personnel assigned to ES and advises appropriate military personnel and contractors of investigation/security clearance status. Will use the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to process all personnel security inquiries and security clearance actions.
- Processes requests for civilian position sensitivity designations and recommends approval/disapproval.
- Prepares correspondence IAW regulations as required or directed. Monitors suspense files on assigned cases and follows through on all overdue suspense actions.
- Assists visits and personnel security inspections.
- Prepares after action reports noting deficiencies and providing recommendations for possible solutions to the problems.
- Assists with the review and upkeep of client SOPs to ensure they contain relevant information as required by regulations and other pertinent directives.
- Provides advice and assistance pertaining to the Electronic Personnel Security Questionnaire and submission of personnel security correspondence.
- Processes requests for issuing Public Key Infrastructure card (PKI) tokens used to access Department of the Army networks.
- Processes Visitor Access Requests in DISS.
- Manages the on and off boarding of personnel into the client organization to include processing requests for Common Access Cards, network account activations, campus access badges, and the receipt of government furnished equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Working knowledge and proficiency with the Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
- Interim Secret or Secret clearance required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong coordination, organization, teaming, and communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational, scheduling, and prioritization skills and maintain a high level of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.
- Ability to work well individually or in a group setting.
- Ability to work under pressure and with time constraints.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Office, Outlook, Utilize AutoCAD, Visio, and MS Project 2007 programs.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision or guidance.
