Position: VMWare Server Admin
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled
VMware Server Administrator to join their team!
Responsibilities:
- Monitors daily activities of technology systems
- Installs, configures, and monitors server and virtualization technologies
- Monitoring virtualization and server technologies within an enterprise
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining assigned technologies.
- Contribute to the design, integration, and installation of network architecture.
- Coordinate third-party maintenance for network hardware and software
- Participates in 24 x7 on call rotation
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficiency and hands-on experience with VMware 6.7 and newer versions are essential.
- Knowledge of data protection solutions, preferably Dell/EMC, is required.
- Basic understanding of LAN/WAN and server technologies is necessary.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware and software platforms is expected.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills.
- Proven ability to build trust and confidence among users by addressing their business needs effectively.
- General server knowledge, including Windows Server (2008-2019), Microsoft Exchange 2016, Active Directory, and VMware, is required.
- Familiarity with public cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), Aruba Wireless, and Checkpoint Firewalls is desirable.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN and multi-platform environments is advantageous.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience with Windows Servers (2008-2016), VMware, and enterprise storage is required.
- Experience with Ivanti Service Desk or similar service desk applications for implementation, maintenance, and support is preferred.
