Senior Manager – Technology and Security

Summary: We are seeking a results-driven Senior Manager to oversee Task 3: Technology and Security as part of the CDC’s Global Health Program Implementation. The Senior Manager will lead the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technology solutions, information management strategies, and security protocols. This role will ensure alignment with government standards and facilitate strategic initiatives to enhance the CDC’s global health efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technology Strategy & Development: Lead the creation of technology strategies that align with CDC’s global health mission by assessing current systems, identifying gaps, and implementing Microsoft 365 (M365) solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- IT Governance & Security: Ensure compliance with Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Project Management Institute (PMI) standards for IT governance and security by conducting maturity assessments of IT portfolios, identifying gaps, and developing security protocols in line with CDC’s Office of Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) requirements.
- Data Management & Visualization: Oversee data analytics and visualization initiatives to aid decision-making, recommending enhancements for data handling and ensuring the protection of sensitive information from unauthorized access.
- Staff Training & System Deployment: Facilitate training on new systems and collaborate with CDC teams to ensure smooth technology deployment, while promoting technology adoption and educating staff on data security best practices.
- Reporting & Compliance: Ensure the timely delivery of monthly reports detailing project progress, system performance, and compliance with security standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in IT management, with a focus on security and technology strategy in large organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of GAO, PMI standards, and federal IT security policies (FISMA, NIST).
- Experience with M365 solutions, data analytics, and visualization tools.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale technology projects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with senior leadership and technical teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in global health or government-related IT projects.
- Certifications in IT governance, project management, and cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, PMP).
